Joni Roger Oliveira arrives at the Southern Asia-Pacific Division office for the first time two months after his election. In 2013, he received a call to serve as the Youth and Pathfinder Ministry Director at the same conference.

In 2016, Joni was called to serve in the West Central Brazilian Union and served in the same capacity until 2018. He was then called to serve in the South American Division as Assistant Secretary and Coordinator of Adventist Volunteer Service and Rencounter Evangelism. It was here that Joni accepted his call to serve in the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SSD). Joni is highly qualified for his role, holding a degree in Theology, a post-degree in Family Counseling, and a Master's degree in Missiology from UNASP Campus Engenheiro Coelho. He is dedicated to motivating people, especially young people, to commit to the Lord and His mission.
