DIVINE INTERVENTION UNVEILED
The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the LORD Almighty. ‘’The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace, ‘ declares the LORD Almighty.” Haggai 2:8, 9.
The church leaders went to the city office again and relied on the power of prayer. They met a woman at the front desk who recognized them as representatives of the Yangon Adventist Seminary, a grade 1-12 institution. She exclaimed, ‘You’re from that school! I studied there. I appreciate their values and education so much that two of my children are currently enrolled.’
This fortunate encounter proved to be God’s providence. Upon hearing about the school’s construction plans, she immediately declared, ‘I will help you. I will work for you.’ In no time, bureaucratic obstacles were overcome, and construction of the new
school building began.
The culmination of this challenging journey was a touching dedication ceremony for the six-story school building. It stood as a testament to faith and perseverance.
The leadership of the church encouraged the teachers to keep Jesus at the heart of education, emphasizing the school’s role as a significant ‘center of influence’ in Yangon. The dedication ceremony marked the completion of a building and the realization of a spiritual vision. The vision was borne out of sacrifice and shared faith.
Wesley Doe, the school treasurer, expressed gratitude to the global Adventist community for their contributions through the Thirteenth Sabbath offering. The dream became a reality through collective efforts, Sabbath School offerings, donations from private sources, land sales, and various organizational funds.
The new building will be able to accommodate 800 children. The dedication ceremony was a celebration not only of a physical structure but also of a divine connection that transcended bureaucratic hurdles. The event featured a symphony of traditional dances, melodious violin orchestras, and heartfelt prayers, making it a truly memorable experience.
Even though people in the country may not have connections with the authorities, they have the most important connection of all – with God. The new building of the Yangon Adventist Seminary is not just a construction project. It is a story of unwavering faith, divine intervention, and persistence in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
Please, pray for our missionaries, volunteers, and Global Mission Pioneers. Your faithfulness sustains their ministry.
