United for Harvest 2025

The Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission Progress Report

Mission Updates November 9, 2025

The Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission (NLPUM) actively joined the Southern Asia-Pacific Division’s Harvest 2025 initiative, uniting missions, conferences, institutions, and departments in a year of evangelism and revival. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, every arm of the church—from pastoral to educational, youth to health—worked harmoniously to prepare souls for Christ’s soon return.

1000 Missionary Movement: Young Missionaries for Christ

Twenty NLPUM missionaries were deployed across mission fields, holding evangelistic meetings that led to 27 baptisms and numerous outreach events. Recruitment drives encouraged more youth to join the mission, ensuring continuity and global service. Collaboration with local churches remained key to training and supporting missionaries.

Youth and PCM Department: Youth in Action for Christ

The Youth Department celebrated a year of vibrant faith through Master Guide Induction, Youth Festivals, and Senior Youth Leader Graduations, empowering young people as “God’s hands and feet in action.” Leadership and evangelism training deepened their spiritual commitment, while the Youth Directors and Family Retreat provided renewal and balance for ministry families. Across missions, the youth stood firm, courageous, and mission-driven.

Children’s Ministries: Raising Young Harvesters

Children’s Ministries nurtured Generation Alpha’s faith through creative evangelism. Vacation Bible School Training empowered leaders to teach with innovation and joy. Global Children’s Day, themed We Stand Together for Every Child, brought hope to marginalized children through outreach and music. The Children’s Convention and Training Camp gathered 743 participants, nurturing spirituality and leadership among young believers.

Adventist Mission: Reaching the Unreached
Adventist Mission expanded outreach to indigenous and Muslim communities in the Cordilleras and Benguet through medical missions, interfaith counseling at BJMP, and livelihood projects. Through friendship evangelism and government partnerships, the department opened new doors for witnessing and hope.

Education Department: Teaching Like Jesus
Guided by the theme I Will Go, Teach Like Jesus, the Education Department aligned with Harvest 2025 through simultaneous school evangelisms from March 16–22, resulting in 458 student baptisms in one week. The Union invested ₱740,000 to support these initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to youth discipleship.

The Education Leaders Conference on September 8 gathered administrators under the theme From Vision to Action, emphasizing transformational leadership. Quality assurance visits by the Adventist Accrediting Association upheld academic and spiritual excellence across all institutions.

Sabbath School and Personal Ministries: Growing Disciples
Sabbath School conventions revitalized small groups and teacher training, while the New Members Class Training equipped leaders to nurture converts. The Discipleship Cycle—prepare, plant, cultivate, harvest, and preserve—became the framework for growth. The theme Faith That Grows, Disciples That Multiply embodied the movement to make every Sabbath School a center of evangelism.

Health Ministries: Healing Through Compassion
Under the leadership of Lanieflor Malabad, Health Ministries served thousands through medical missions and education. The Atlantic Union Conference Medical Mission reached six underserved Metro Manila communities, merging health and spirituality. Programs such as the Health Leaders’ Fellowship and Alternative Medicine Orientation trained health professionals to minister holistically.

Partnerships with DSWD for youth in conflict with the law expanded mental health advocacy, while Teacher Empowerment Seminars promoted emotional resilience. Women’s wellness programs and online continuing education strengthened the integration of health and mission.

Women’s and Family Ministries: Healing Homes, Empowering Women
Amid transitions, Women’s and Family Ministries worked closely with the Southern Luzon Union. The Bi-Union Women’s and Ministerial Spouses Convention in Palawan gathered 470 delegates, renewing commitment and unity. The Family Ministries Conference in Cavite, themed Healing the Family: Trauma, Sexuality, and Redemption, addressed emotional and moral struggles through biblical guidance. The launch of SEASONS: Moving Through the Changes of Grief and Loss at the Union headquarters became a ministry of comfort to the grieving, reminding all that God restores broken hearts.

Ministerial Spouses Association: Partners in Mission
The Ministerial Spouses Association (MSA) strengthened pastoral families through spiritual and emotional support. Online studies like New in the Ministry, the Bi-Union MSA Convention, SEASONS Training, and Life Coaching and Psychological First Aid in Vietnam equipped spouses with tools for compassionate service and resilience.

Nurture, Discipleship, and Evangelism – Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle: Engaging Every Member, Making Disciples
The Union Prayer Conference renewed the zeal of pastors and members through covenant commitments and quarterly baptisms. Care Group Evangelism continued to thrive, contributing to 9,490 baptisms and 111 reclaimed members—bringing the Union close to its 10,000-goal for the year.

Ministerial Department: Preparing Workers, Winning Souls
The Ministerial Department deepened prayer life and strengthened leadership through training programs. The Intern Institute of Church Management and Leadership (IICML) equipped first-year ministers in pastoral skills and administration, while the Intern Field School of Urban Evangelism (IFSUE) in Pampanga yielded 169 baptisms and new worship centers—including one in a former Catholic church. The ordination of 10 pastors capped the year’s success, symbolizing a strengthened workforce for greater harvests.

Through the Program to Reach Every Active Clergy Home (PREACH), bridges of friendship were built with non-Adventist pastors, fostering interfaith understanding and cooperation.

Communication Department: Proclaiming Hope Through Media
The Communication Department expanded digital evangelism through programs like 10 Days of Prayer and Dios ang Kanlungan, reaching thousands on Hope Channel, YouTube, and Facebook. Supporting campaigns such as Manila for Christ and the NLPUM Prayer Conference, the department ensured high-quality media coverage and trained digital missionaries. Collaboration with Adventist World Radio (AWR) extended the gospel to remote areas, while personal evangelistic campaigns affirmed that media ministry thrives through personal connection.

Publishing Ministries: Bold as Lions
Under the rallying cry With the Boldness of a Lion, Publishing Ministries strengthened 871 literature evangelists who distributed 98,417 free books, held 29,066 Bible studies, and celebrated 477 baptisms. Programs like Ten Days of Prayer, Publishing Leaders’ Summit, and Caravan Canvassing empowered workers to share truth courageously. The inspiring story of Dr. Earl Carol Garcia-Biscaro, a physician turned literature evangelist, reminded all that true ministry demands faith and compassion.

Stewardship Department: Faithfulness in Action
With the theme God First, the Stewardship Department inspired over 148,000 members toward faithful giving and discipleship. Trainings and summits promoted biblical stewardship and financial integrity.

Programs like the Church Planter Pastors’ Certification and Motives of the Heart Seminars strengthened churches spiritually and financially. Despite economic challenges, the Union recorded a tithe faithfulness rate of 79.51%, with 371 pastors modeling integrity through the Combined Offering Plan. Over 4,000 home visitations reinforced that stewardship begins in the family.

Conclusion: One Mission, One Spirit
The 2025 report of the Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission reflects a body united under God’s vision for Harvest 2025. Each department, leader, and member—serving through preaching, teaching, healing, or media—contributed to bringing souls to Christ. Amid challenges, the spirit of collaboration and consecration shone brightly across Northern Luzon.

With hearts fixed on God’s mission, NLPUM remains steadfast in proclaiming His Word—reaching every home, every heart, for Christ.
