LEAVING EVERYTHING – A STEP OF FAITH

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

The year was 2019. Brendon and Lizzy had no idea what the future held for them, but they were excited to find out! They had just bought a house and made so many wonderful memories there. The greatest memory above all others was the birth of their son, Elliot.

Although they had many stories attached to their home, they made the life-altering decision to move to Palawan, an island in the Philippines, and serve in the Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services (PAMAS), leaving their future in God’s hands. As they closed the front door of their home for the last time, they looked back, remembering all the memories they had made. However, they also looked forward to
the future, relying on God’s guidance, and excited about the new memories they would create.

Before leaving, they made sure to visit their relatives and friends. Then they went to Michigan, where they stayed until their departure. They were grateful to have spent quality time with their parents before leaving for the Philippines. It was truly a blessing that they were able to celebrate Elliot’s first birthday with their entire family.

However, they ran into some trouble selling their house. Despite being under contract for over two months, finalizing the sale was delayed for several weeks due to various reasons. Even though they were all packed up and ready to go, they knew the contract could still fall through. This was the last thing holding them to go to the mission field. What would happen if the house wasn’t sold or if it took longer than it had already taken? Nonetheless, they chose to trust God and have faith that everything would work out. With only three days left, and just one business day remaining, the contract still had not closed. On the day before their travel, a miracle happened – they finally sold their house – they took it as a sign of confirmation from the Lord – that He would take care of them as long as they placed their lives into God’s hands.

As they prepare for their future journey, they kindly ask for your prayers and support. They truly believe they will be reunited with their family someday. “Following in the steps of our Savior is a true privilege. For our purpose of this life is to serve others and spread the good news in the hope of eternal life in Christ.”

Please, pray for our missionaries, volunteers, and Global Mission Pioneers.
Your faithfulness sustains their ministry.
