The year 2025 has been determent by the Southern Asia Pacific Division (SSD) to be a Special evangelistic year with the theme of Harvest 2025, where all elements in the SDA Church whether it is individual members, groups, all levels of organizations, and all institutions must be involved in winning souls for Christ.
The launching for EIUC was held in the last week of November 2024 attended by all officers of the local missions and the Conferences. After the launching, the first step is socialization to all local churches within the EIUC.
As the implementation of this initiative, from January to March 2025 we have implemented the preparation phase. The various activities in this preparation phase include:
Spiritual Preparation
Prayer Mobilization. After ten days of prayer, EIUC also held a 30-days zoom prayer to coincide with the Muslim’s fasting month of Ramadan. All workers in the whole union territory participated. The goal is totally surrender of all workers to the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit for the success of the Harvest 2025. Then All missions and conferences also doing their own prayer and fasting, according to their schedule involving all workers and members.
The Week of Prayer has also been carried out simultaneously through several departments that provide the materials for use in each local church according to their schedule
Training
Several trainings have been made both at the union level, regional level, Mission level, and even local church level.
1. Lead Conference for digital evangelism and Adventist identity. It was held in Makassar on January 20-26, for all officers and directors of the union, missions, and conferences within EIUC.
2. SSD has also held a tri union training for Harvest 2025 held in Bali on January 26-30, 2025.
3. Elders Training. To prepare the local churches to carry out the Reaping evangelism phase 1, Elders Training for Harvest 2025 has been held in two regions. Region 1 was held on March 26-30 in Makassar for the church elders from 8 Missions/conferences outside the churches in North Sulawesi Province. Region 2 was held at North Celebes Academy, Tompaso II Minahasa, on April 1-4, 2025 for all elders from North Sulawesi Province.
4. Training has also been held in the context of mission and conference. The leadership of all missions and conferences strive to motivate all church members to be actively involved in the Harvest 2025 initiative
5. The total number of evangelism training related to Harvest 2025 that has been conducted before First Harvest, including the trainings conducted in the local churches, is 986 trainings. Others training was continually done even after first and second harvest.
Care Group Formation and Strengthening
We are working earnestly to strengthen evangelistic activities through Care Groups. A total of 4,155 care groups has been established with 39,082 members involved through care groups. A total of 11,961 care group guests has been evangelized during this period.
First Harvest
The First harvest was done simultaneously on May 11-17 in all local churches within the EIUC. Praise the Lord because from 1061 local churches, and 69 companies, all (100%) conducted evangelistic meeting, involving 6180 lay speakers, most of them were elders.
Second Harvest
For the second harvest, we didn’t set a concurrent date but leave it to each KONF/MISS to set it up according to the situation in each mission/conference. But what is certain is that of 643 ordained pastors and licensed and intern pastors, even non index pastors, all of them (100%) conducted evangelistic meeting.
Third Harvest
Third Harvest as the schedule for Union and Division Officers & Directors to conduct Evangelistic Meeting is on August & September. And praise the Lord that in this phase, all union officers, and departmental directors and associates, even accounting team, all have done evangelism. We have spread to all missions based on the lottery of places. There are also several evangelistic spots with the speakers coming from SSD. In addition, Harvest III is also supported by guest evangelists from abroad.
Total Member Involvement
Of the 93,440 baptized members, 74,500 (80%) are involved in evangelism in various fields such as through care groups, personal evangelism, community service, distributing books and harvesting.
Total School Involvement
Of the 92 elementary schools, 69 academies and two tertiaries, (100%) carry out evangelistic activities in schools and their surroundings.
Baptism
To this day we have baptized 4,071 souls, and reclaimed 134 former members. That number is still far from the baptismal commitment that has been set for the 2025 harvest, but we are still grateful for the newly won souls and still working hard to finish this harvest.
Now phase IV of Harvest 2025 is underway. We hope that there will be many souls to be won, and the peak phase of Harvest 2025 in the form of Net Evangelism on December 3-13, 2025 will also be a happy year-end event when many souls can be won.
