Officially dissolved on December 13, 2021, the Southeast Asia Union Mission (SAUM) became a trifurcate church organizations, namely: the Southeastern Asia Union Mission (SEUM), which covers the territory of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam; the Malaysia Union Mission (MAUM), which covers the territory of Malaysia and Brunei; and Singapore Attached Field.

On March 29, 2022, SEUM inaugurates its new headquarters in Muak Lek, Thailand. SEUM will sit right next to its famous neighbor, the Asia Pacific International University. Muak Lek is located in Saraburi province in the eastern part of Thailand, a three-hour drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The dedication of the new SEUM headquarters also served as the consecration of the new set of leaders from SEUM, Thailand Adventist Mission, and Bangkok Adventist Hospital.

“This would herald a new focus on mission, especially in reaching people groups who have never heard the gospel,” according to Pastor Somchai Chuenjit, then president of SAUM and currently the president of SEUM. The focus of SEUM is to reach out to the Buddhists and the Hindu people in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. MAUM will focus on winning the hearts of Muslim people in Malaysia and Brunei. Singapore Attached Field will take up the challenge to witness to the wealthy seculars in Singapore.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Saraburi province, Honorable Polawat Thianchaimongkol, and his party; delegates from Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) headed by Pastor Saw Samuel, president of SSD; leaders from Thailand Adventist Mission, leaders from Bangkok Adventist Hospital and other church organizations. Pastor Sam urged those in attendance to let agape love be the motivation for the mission. He stressed that agape love is indiscriminate, has the right attitude, is inconvenient, willing, gives freely, treats equally, and practices grace.
