A group of Master Guide leaders from the Adventist church in Capitol Center, Cebu, Philippines, has recently concluded their evangelistic efforts in two locations, resulting in 61 baptisms. The Master Guides partnered with local government agencies, including the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Talisay City, and Upper Green Valley in Lahug, under the theme "Mosunod Ako Kanimo" (I Will Follow You).

A Master Guide is a leadership development program designed for youth and adults involved in the Pathfinder Club and other youth ministries. It is the highest level of leadership training within the Pathfinder organization, focusing on developing skills and knowledge necessary for effective leadership in youth ministry.

The ministry at BJMP spanned three months, during which Master Guide conducted weekly Bible study sessions. This effort culminated on June 25, 2024, with 52 inmates deciding to be baptized.

The evangelistic series in Lahug took place from June 30 to July 6, 2024, resulting in nine individuals committing their lives to Jesus. In total, the evangelistic campaigns at BJMP and Lahug led to the baptism of 61 individuals. The messages shared by Master Guide aspirants attracted 50–60 attendees each night to the Lahug event.

The nightly meetings featured segments on health and children’s classes, enriching the overall experience. Volunteer doctors provided essential healthcare services to attendees, fostering trust and community relationships. This initiative introduced participants to the Adventist health message and created a joyful atmosphere for children. The evangelistic meetings culminated in the baptism of nine new believers.

Initially, overcoming hesitations and prejudices towards the Adventist faith posed a challenge. However, through the medical mission and genuine interactions, friendships flourished, and hearts became open to the message of salvation.

The concluded event exemplified the power of collaboration and encouraged delegates to participate in the church's mission, regardless of age, nationality, gender, or race.

Pastor Joer Barlizo, President of the Adventist Church in Central Philippines (CPUC), was deeply impressed by the unwavering dedication of all involved. In a message, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who demonstrated inspiring commitment throughout the endeavor.

He also extended gratitude to the speakers, pastors, and brethren who facilitated and prepared for the event. Encouraging continued zeal, he cited Revelation 2:25: "But hold fast what you have till I come."

Building on these initiatives, the Master Guides are committed to expanding their outreach efforts to reach more individuals in the future.
