Inspiration and Stories November 10, 2025

At Bambujaya International School, stories of transformation often unfold quietly within classrooms, dormitories, and shared spaces. Recently, one such story deeply moved Pastor Wong—a testimony that reflected the power of true education and the grace of God at work in a young life.

Just yesterday, a new student who joined the school this year visited Pastor Wong’s living room to ask about her homework. What began as a casual conversation soon turned into a heartfelt sharing of how her life had changed since coming to the school. Her words reminded Pastor Wong that every child carries within them the seed of goodness and growth, waiting for the right care and faith to nurture it.

When this student first arrived, she displayed all the traits of a rebellious teenager. Despite her parents’ advice against dyeing her hair, she colored it green instead. When told not to wear earrings, she pierced four. Though intelligent, she resisted her parents’ expectations. Having transferred schools many times, she had lost her sense of belonging and security. Experiences of exclusion during sports training left her emotionally scarred, prompting her to build walls around her heart.

At first, she knew nothing about Bambujaya’s faith-based philosophy and resisted its spiritual principles. She refused to eat vegetarian food and expressed disbelief in God. Within days, her mother even sneaked home secretly, worried about her daughter’s anger and resistance.

But six weeks ago, the seed of change began to take root.

One morning, she forgot to fold her blanket. Her roommate, Lin Xin, quietly helped her—a simple act of kindness that warmed her heart for the first time. Another roommate, Gan Lin, encouraged her to open up and prayed for her in secret. Meanwhile, Sister An Le patiently studied the Bible with her. Gradually, she began listening attentively during evening worship, and tears were often seen rolling down her cheeks.

Transformation began in silence.

In a chemistry class where only four students passed, she was one of them. When she called her father, her tone had softened—gentle and caring. She learned to sleep and wake early, developing discipline and healthier habits. Most touching of all, she told Pastor Wong,

“Teacher, I used to save money to buy celebrity merchandise, but now I want to save to invest in myself—to become a better person, to find my purpose and future.”

During her work education in the media department, she initially planned to use the computer secretly to watch videos. But after a few weeks, she noticed that her senior, Chu Yang, always stayed focused and disciplined. Seeing his integrity, she thought, “If he can do it, why can’t I?”

She began to wonder: If these people were only pretending to be kind, wouldn’t they have been exposed by now? But if their kindness is genuine, then perhaps what these Christians believe is true and trustworthy.

She later shared how grateful she was to meet so many good teachers at Bambujaya—people whose faith and kindness changed her life.

Pastor Wong emphasizes that Bambujaya International School is not a “Youth Reformatory.” It is a place for those who seek help from God and refuse to give up on themselves. The teachers walk with students as they grow—sometimes through discipline, sometimes through prayer, but always with love.

The school acknowledges that its rules may not always please students, and parents may occasionally hear complaints. Yet these challenges are part of the growing process. What matters most is the unity of hearts in prayer and the presence of God’s love across the campus.

For at Bambujaya, true education is not about forcing change, but awakening life; not about outward control, but inner transformation.

Pastor Wong expresses gratitude to all parents for their trust and continued support. He prays that God’s grace and peace will rest upon every family connected to the school.

Praise God for this wonderful testimony of how lives are being changed through the blessings of true education, which is evident in every individual around this school.
