Day 1 - Introduction
It has been said, “The enemy wants to limit your prayer because he knows that your prayer will limit him.” Truly, the enemy is at work, seeking to discourage and hinder the ministry of our spiritual leaders as they follow Christ. Pastors face many struggles and difficulties—often invisible to us—that can create a ripple effect in our churches and our lives.
More than ever, we need to be on our knees, covering specific areas of our pastor-husbands’ lives in prayer. It is important to have a structured plan for prayer so that we remain focused. Throughout the month, we will use a keyword or phrase, a Scripture passage, and a prayer guide in our daily prayers. This prayer challenge begins with you and your commitment before God to pray for your pastor-husband.
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.” — 1 Timothy 2:1-3
Today, on Day 1, ask God to keep you faithful in prayer for your pastor-husband. Take it a step further by asking Him to deeply impress upon your heart the need to continue in prayer beyond this month. Pray that He would give you a burden for intercession and prompt you daily in the months and years to come. Who can say what God will do and how He will move in your ministry because of your prayers?
I’m so excited to do this with you! My hope is that specific prayer for your pastor-husband will become a part of your daily routine, even beyond this 31-day challenge. Consider letting your pastor-husband know that you are praying for him daily and specifically. Without a doubt, this is the greatest gift you could ever give him!
Day 2 - Calling to Ministry
Key Verse: 1 Timothy 1:12
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, I thank You for calling my husband to be a pastor. Thank You for gifting him, through Your grace, to be one of Your servants. Thank You for counting him faithful to study, proclaim Your Word, and lead Your people. Keep him aware of Your calling on his life but also keep his eyes open to the fact that he is first called to You as one of Your children. Compel him to love and serve You out of a heart that adores Your character and never let him forget that it is You who enables him. Let his life be a feast of grace that results in a table of godliness from which others can glean. Let his character emulate Yours, and let his ministry be a light to the lost world and a home for believers within Your church. Keep my husband set apart for You, wholly committed to the life You have called him to, even in the face of trial, opposition, and sacrifice. Bless him richly with spiritual blessings and confirm Your will to him as he walks in Your way.
God, I thank You for calling my husband to be a pastor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 3 – Encouragement During Times of Struggle
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:8-10
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be manifest in our body.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
God, I ask that You encourage my husband with Your heart’s encouragement. When he faces trouble, may he find peace in You and remain undisturbed. In moments of confusion, help him run to You for wisdom, confident that You have every answer and that he need not despair. When he is criticized, falsely accused, or hurt, remind him that even if others abandon him and his ministry, You are always by his side—let him feel Your constant presence. When discouragement strikes, lift him up and prevent him from giving up. Draw him close to Yourself so that You become his sole and unshakable source of hope. As he commits to this daily, let his life clearly reflect Your love and power to those around him. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Day 4 – Preaching and Communication
Key Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband boldness as he preaches Your Word. Let him be rooted in sound doctrine, always searching Your Word and Your heart for the message You want him to deliver. Keep him on the path of right thinking and speaking. Make him a strong and effective preacher, coupling this with a heart of compassion and longsuffering for his people. Enable him to reprove, rebuke, and exhort with a genuine love for You and for the people You have given him to lead. Gift him with the communication skills he needs to convey Your Word clearly so that others may hear and understand. Give my husband strength to speak hard truths when necessary and to deliver them without fear of what man may do to him. As the seasons of life come and go, may he be found desperately clinging to Your Word, always ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within him. Make the Gospel of Christ the central focus of his preaching.
God, give my husband boldness as he preaches Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 5 – Rest During Time Off
Key Scripture: Isaiah 30:15
For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest shall ye be saved, in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength; but ye would not.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband true rest during his time off. When he has the tendency to work too much, remind him of Your desire to give him rest in both body and soul. Help him set aside the burdens of his heart, the racing of his mind, and the worries of his life. Help him to surrender those things to You and, in turn, receive the quietness of a soul fixed on You and the confidence of thoughts established in Your Word. Teach my husband how to ‘let his hair down’ and laugh; show him the value of playing with his children and developing hobbies and interests that are not ministry related. Strengthen our marriage during his times of relaxation. Enable him to step away from time to time without feeling guilty. Refresh him in those moments—let them be the times that renew his vision and passion: first for You, second for our family, and third for his ministry to Your people.
God, give my husband true rest during his time off. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 6 – Teamwork/Staff Unity
Key Scripture: Ephesians 4:1-3
I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, help my husband be a man who promotes peace and unity in his relationships. I ask especially for his relationships with other staff members, both men and women. Bless him as he strives for true unity with his coworkers. Give him grace to live among others with love and to be characterized by longsuffering. Make him a man of humility—one who serves others—and a man of meekness—one who is strong but keeps that strength under the control of Your Holy Spirit. Let him be a blessing to those he works with every day and let those he works with be a blessing to him. Help him communicate well with his staff and to give and receive grace in times of miscommunication. Give my husband joy in serving alongside other men and women who love You and share the same goals and purpose in ministry. In so doing, let him walk worthy of this vocation (pastoring) to which You have called him.
God, make my husband a man who promotes peace and unity in his relationships. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 7 – Wisdom in Counseling
Key Scripture: Colossians 2:2b-3, James 1:5
Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Prayer Challenge for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband abundant wisdom as he counsels Your people. Draw him continually to Yourself as the source of all wisdom. Lead him away from relying on his own ideas and leaning on his own understanding. Give him Your heart on the matters he faces every day. When people come to him for help, may he run to You first. When situations become complicated, keep him grounded and calm in the knowledge that Your Word will light his path. Show my husband the treasures of wisdom that are hidden in You; make him a man of great wisdom because he seeks Your face continually. When he is called upon to help others through counseling, keep him focused on Christ so that he can offer solid hope.
God, give my husband abundant wisdom as he counsels Your people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 8 – Producing the Fruit of the Spirit
Key Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in my husband as he submits to You. May he be a man of love—self-sacrificing love that receives from You and reaches into others. May he be a man of joy—a deep, settled awareness that You are in control in times of success and in times of suffering. May he be a man of peace—a reflection of You, the Prince of Peace, a peacemaker among people, and a peaceful presence in the church. May he be a man of longsuffering—with resilience that endures under pressure and lovingly deals with difficult people. May he be a man of gentleness—someone who puts people at ease with his grace-filled words and actions. May he be a man of goodness—one who prioritizes godly living and shows kindness to others. May he be a man of faith—a strong example of consistent trust in You and Your Word, lived out in practical ways. May he be a man of meekness—a strong man who is under Your control. May he be a man of temperance—one who exhibits self-control and spiritual discipline.
Let him be submissive to Your working in his life as You grow him spiritually. Teach him how to abide in You as a branch through which You can bear fruit.
God, cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in my husband as he submits to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 9 – Deliverance in Times of Temptation
Key Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 4:7
There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband spiritual strength to resist temptation. Make him aware of the enemy’s tactics so that he can be on guard with the armor of God. Show him Your continued faithfulness and Your grace in not allowing him to face more than he can bear in the area of temptation. Deliver him from the evil that Satan desires to bring into his life through temptation to sin. Remind him to submit to You when he is tempted. Show him the way of escape that You have provided. Fill him with joy in making right choices that please You.
God, give my husband spiritual strength to resist temptation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 10 – Love for God
Key Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5, 1 Corinthians 8:3
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
If any man love God, the same is known of him.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband a deep love for You that is evident to those around him. Thank You that he loves You enough to live for You, to lead his family in a godly way, and to lead our church in a direction that pleases You. Help him to grow in this love for You in a way that causes him to pour his very being into loving You. May his private life with You result in an outpouring of love to others. Let it be evident that his heart and affections are set on You. Let it be obvious that his soul is following hard after You. Let him love You with his thoughts, reasoning, and philosophies. Let it be known of him that he loves You.
God, give my husband a deep love for You that is evident to those around him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 11 – Knowledge of God’s Will
Key Scripture: Colossians 1: 9
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, make Your will continually clear to my husband. Show him Your path for his personal life. Give him clarity in the details of leading our family and raising our children. Show him clearly where to minister, when to stay and when to go, how to lead Your people, what to say and what not to say. Give him spiritual understanding for godly living, as well as for preaching, teaching, and counseling. Help him to do the next thing in his day-to-day life while still keeping his focus on the big picture of eternity. Through Your Word, light his path and lead him in steps that are ordered by You. Let him delight in Your way and not turn aside or be distracted.
God, make Your will continually clear to my husband. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 12 – Man of Prayer
Key Scripture: Psalm 5:3, Psalm 6:9
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer, and will look up.
The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, make my husband a man of prayer. Give him a burning desire to communicate with You in deep relationship. Impress upon him the importance of bringing all things, great and small, to You. Show him Your power in his life through the prayers he lifts in his secret place. Let prayer be a high priority in his daily life. Bring him to a place of utter dependence on You so that every prayer is breathed as a cry for grace. Keep him pure and right with You so that his prayers will not be hindered. Thank You for the promise of heard, received, and answered prayers.
God, make my husband a man of prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 13 – A Peaceful Heart
Key Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 3:16a, John 14:27
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband Your gift of peace. When all around him is less than peaceful, let him focus on You, the Prince of Peace. Amid trouble, keep him from being troubled. In times of fear, settle his heart through Your Word. Let him both receive and give peace. In receiving Your peace, teach him how to be a peacemaker among those in contention. Let him have beautiful feet that carry Your Gospel of peace, sharing it with a world that knows nothing of true peace. Let him exhibit the fruit of peace through the filling of Your Spirit.
God, give my husband Your gift of peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 14 – Health and Safety
Key Scripture: Psalm 4:8, Proverbs 21:31
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, protect my husband as he follows You. Give him the measure of health that You desire for him. Let him see his health and physical strength as a gift of grace. Let him use his body for Your service, giving his energy toward laying up treasure in heaven. Give him rest during his sleeping hours—rest that will refresh his body in preparation for further service. When he is sick or recovering, let him look to You as his Healer. Let him glean compassion and empathy for those who are chronically ill or experiencing medical trauma. Keep him aware of the value of his health, knowing that it comes from You. Keep him safe as he speaks from the pulpit and as he travels for visits and fellowship opportunities.
God, protect my husband as he follows You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 15 – Student of the Word
Key Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:15-16
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, make my husband a diligent student of Your Word. Guide his mind as he reads Scripture. Give him clarity and illumination through Your Holy Spirit. Grant him physical stamina during his hours of study. Let him first be a man who sits at Your feet simply for the love of You and Your Word. Give him a passion to read, meditate on, and memorize Your precious words. Let his sermon preparation and delivery be the outflow of what You are doing in his heart. Teach him how to rightly divide Your Word. Help him avoid false doctrine and worldly philosophies that could lead him astray. Mold his character to reflect his devotion as a student of Your Word. Compel him not only to study for sermon preparation but to faithfully live out what he learns. Make him a godly man who esteems Your Word above all else in his life.
God, make my husband a diligent student of Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 16—Pleasing God, Not People
Key Scripture: Galatians 1:10, Proverbs 29:25
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, make my husband a man who seeks to please only You. Keep him focused on speaking and acting exactly as You lead him—no matter the outcome. Give him grace to be gentle, yet strong enough to stand firm when he is under pressure from criticism or controlling people. Help him recognize the trap of people-pleasing and avoid it. Surround him with safety when he trusts in You, even if his leadership or decisions aren’t popular. Keep him from being distracted by the many opinions of others. Let him be a man worthy of being Your servant because he lives before an audience of One.
God, make my husband a man who seeks to please only You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 17 – Godly Father
Key Scripture: Ephesians 6:4, Psalm 127:3. Proverbs 22:6
And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, teach my husband how to be a godly father. Bless his efforts to love, instruct, and discipline the heritage You have given us. Make him a gentle and understanding man—not one who provokes his children by being harsh and demanding or by setting an inconsistent example. Help my husband submit to Your process of sanctification in his life through child-rearing. Give him wisdom as he helps our children grow and mature physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Help him become the kind of person he wants his children to be. Show him his desperate need for Your grace in guiding the small hearts You have entrusted to him.
Let our children grow up to be godly. Let them follow in Your steps and bring joy to my husband’s heart, to mine, and to Yours.
God, teach my husband how to be a godly father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 18 – Godly Marriage
Key Scripture: Ephesians 5: 25-33
Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself, and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband and me a strong, godly marriage. Teach us how to continually love each other with Your sacrificial love. Strengthen our relationship through both the trials and joys of life. Bless us with a unified teamwork as we serve You together. Give us like-mindedness in the decisions we are called to make. Guide us through conflict to resolutions that glorify You. Help my husband order his priorities so that our marriage holds precious importance. Give us creative ideas to make each other feel cherished, respected, and secure. Grant us the courage to stand by each other in the face of criticism and attacks in ministry.
Let us communicate openly and often with each other. Make us best friends. Keep us close to Your heart and faithful to our commitment to You. Let our marriage be a beautiful reflection of the way You love and care for Your Bride—the Church.
God, give my husband and me a strong, godly marriage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 19 – Sexual Purity
Key Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:22, Ephesians 5:3
Fee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not once be named among you, as becometh saints.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, keep my husband pure from sexual sin. Strengthen him in times of temptation. Help him recognize the temptation to stray from You. Protect him from the allure of the strange woman. The statistics of pastors having affairs are frightening—don’t let my pastor husband be one who falls! Prompt him to establish safeguards in his life through a close relationship with You. Help him remain faithful in prayer and Scripture memory. Give him an accountability partner who will sharpen and encourage him.
Draw him close to You and let him emulate Your holiness. Bless his union with me as his wife—keep the enemy from spoiling the beautiful gift of marriage You have given us.
God, keep my husband pure from sexual sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 20 – Godly Friendships
Key Scripture: Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, surround my husband with godly friends. Let me, as his wife, be his most trusted earthly friend. Bring people into his life who will extend grace to him and show him genuine love. Strengthen the bonds of his relationships through the fellowship of sharing Christ together. Give him trusted sources of encouragement and confidence, both within his ministry and among other pastors.
At the same time, let him be a godly friend to others. Let him mirror You as the Friend of sinners. And when he finds himself lonely, may he draw closer to You, his best Friend.
God, surround my husband with godly friends. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 21 – Graceful Speech
Key Scripture: Psalm 19:14, Colossians 4:6
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, help my husband be a man of graceful speech. Let his words be kind, thoughtful, and Christlike. Guide his thoughts along the paths of Your Word so that his words reflect Yours. When faced with conflict and contention, give him the grace to return a soft answer. Help him not to be demanding or hurtful with his words, but rather, let his words heal and encourage.
At home, may his words bless his family. In the pulpit, let him speak only the words You impress on his heart. Remind him that in ministry, it is not his words that convict and comfort, but Your Spirit working through him. Make him a man characterized by speech that glorifies You.
God, help my husband be a man of graceful speech. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 22 – A Grateful Heart
Key Scripture: Hebrews 13:15, 1 Thessalonians 5:18
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, help my husband have a grateful heart. In times of plenty, let him share Your abundant goodness with others out of a spirit of thanksgiving—both through his resources and his words. In times of need, let him lean on You with gratitude for Your promise to provide all his needs. Let him look back and remember Your faithfulness in the past and be comforted.
In times of trial, enable him to offer You the sacrifice of praise—to thank You for everything, even when it is hard. At all times in his life, let him recognize You as the Giver of all good and perfect gifts. Give him the gift of joy that springs from a truly thankful spirit.
God, help my husband have a grateful heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 24 – Heart for Missions
Key Scripture: Mark 16:15, Isaiah 52:7
Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, And says to Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, continue to give my husband a heart for missions. Bless him with a passion to share the Good News of Christ in his own sphere of influence. Continually open his eyes to the needs of the world. Give him opportunities to travel to mission fields beyond his own—both to encourage missionaries and to broaden his worldview regarding the need for Your Word in the uttermost parts of the earth.
Surround him with like-minded people who are also passionate about supporting missionaries financially and prayerfully. Let his heart for missions inspire our church, and may we be a church body that looks beyond ourselves to the needs of missionaries. May I be an encouragement to my husband in this area by sharing the Gospel with the people I interact with every day.
God, continue to give my husband a heart for missions! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 25 – Mentoring/Discipleship
Key Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:2
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, which shall be able to teach others also.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, bring people into my husband’s life for the purpose of mentoring and discipling. Guide him as he studies Your Word and fill his heart with truth. Compel him to patiently mentor those You have placed under his care and within his sphere of influence. Give him opportunities to pour into others’ lives the wisdom he has been taught.
Help him patiently mentor those who are younger in faith. Let his mentoring be not only in words but also through the example of a godly life. Continually bless his desire and efforts to disciple other believers and lead them in Your way.
God, bring people into my husband’s life for the purpose of mentoring and discipling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 26 – Love for People
Key Scripture: 1 John 4:7, John 13:34
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband a deep and genuine love for people. This is the essence of a pastor’s heart—that he nurtures Your people as his own. Compel him to minister with a passionate and caring heart for his flock. Keep him from leading out of selfishness; instead, give him the grace to be sacrificial and sincere.
Let his words and actions flow from a heart that truly cares for his people. As my husband leads by the example of Your love, help us as a church body to love one another in a way that reflects Your love for us. Beyond our own church doors, give my husband opportunities within the community and throughout the world to show Your love to believers and unbelievers alike.
God, give my husband a deep and genuine love for people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 27 – Servant’s Heart
Key Scripture: Galatians 5:13, Philippians 2:5-7
For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty as an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband a servant’s heart that mirrors Your own. Let him be found daily serving others in love—within his family, our church body, and the world around him. As he leads by example in servanthood, may we, as church members, follow him as he follows You. May we serve him and our fellow believers from a heart of love, expecting nothing in return.
Thank You for Your ultimate example of servanthood, which led You to the cross to pay the price for our sin, open the way to a relationship with You, and give us eternity in heaven with You. Yours is the greatest example of what a life of servanthood can accomplish in the lives of others. Help my husband to follow in Your steps.
God, give my husband a servant’s heart that mirrors Your own. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 28 – Financial Wisdom
Key Scripture: Matthew 6:21, Matthew 6:33
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, give my husband wisdom to use finances for Your glory. Help him to treasure things of eternal value and to be a good steward of the money You have entrusted to him. Lead him to make wise choices in managing our family’s finances. Help him teach our children the good principles of stewardship and trust You for daily provision.
Guide my husband in making decisions regarding church finances. Keep our church from being inwardly focused; instead, motivate us to use funds for the expansion of local ministry and the support of missionaries spreading the Gospel around the world.
God, give my husband wisdom to use finances for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 29 – Steadfast in Suffering
Key Scripture: Matthew 5:11, 1 Peter 4:16
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, help my husband to glorify You in his suffering. Ground him in Your Word so that he remains rooted in Christ as his foundation when trials come. Give him grace to bear the suffering You bring into his life, whether it comes from unbelievers or fellow believers. Please keep our church from being the cause of his suffering. Help us to willingly come under his leadership and allow him to lovingly lead our church body.
Give my husband spiritual blessing, not shame, in his times of suffering. And when seasons of trial are long, strengthen him. Help him to be gracious to his critics and to resist the temptation to defend himself against false accusers. Let him seek You as his only Defender, and let him find You faithful, as You promise to be for Your servants.
God, help my husband to glorify You in his suffering. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 30 - Faithfulness
Key Scripture: 1 Corinthians 4:2, Luke 16:10
Moreover it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, keep my husband faithful to You and to Your Word. Let his life be characterized by a continual embrace of Your doctrine and Scriptural principles. Keep him faithful in marriage, family, and ministry. Help him to work hard, even in the mundane tasks of family life and ministry, always keeping eternity in focus.
Steady his heart and life in his relationship with Christ so that when hard times come, he will remain steadfast in Your way. Help him to build a legacy for generations to follow through his example of faithfulness to You. In the ebb and flow of life’s events, let him be found faithful both in the little tasks and in the greater things You entrust to him.
God, keep my husband faithful to You and to Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 31 – A Prayer for Spiritual Blessings
Key Scripture: Ephesians 1:3, Matthew 5:3-12 {Beatitudes}
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:
“God, bless my husband with an abundance of spiritual blessings! Let his life be characterized not necessarily by physical or tangible blessings, but by the blessings found in Christ. Bless him with fruit for his labor and with rewards in heaven for his faithful service in his calling to ministry.
When trials come and overshadow earthly blessings, let him reap the blessings of leaning on Your promises and obeying Your Word. Keep my husband walking in godliness and enjoying a fellowship with You that deepens over time. Let our church benefit from the spiritual blessings You pour into his life; may his leadership grow in both strength and love.
God, bless my husband with an abundance of spiritual blessings! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
