His Mind
Day 04 | PRAYING FOR YOUR PASTOR HUSBAND← Day 03: His Emotions
Day 05: When Fear Rises Up→
TRUTH
So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
1 Peter 1: 13-15 NLT
TALK TO GOD
Lord, please help my husband keep his mind sharp and his determination to follow Your path strong. I pray that he will be more attentive to Your desires than to his own. Help him tune in to Your voice rather than being swayed by what everyone else—or even he himself—thinks. Guide him to live as Your obedient child, saying no to the temptations of his past and embracing a God-led life in every way. Keep him from falling for quick fixes that end up causing long-term trouble. Teach him the strength of saying, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” In Jesus’ name, amen.
THINK
Think about this: each moment you exercise self-control, you grow stronger in mind and character, shaping a more disciplined and resilient version of yourself.
TAKE ACTION
The next time your husband asks for sexual intimacy and you feel the need to say no, respond with, “Yes, however…” and communicate when it would work better for you. Then follow through on the commitment.
