Day 30: A Prayer For Perspective

TRUTH

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.
Psalm 9:1 NLT

TALK TO GOD
Lord, it is easy to focus on what we think You are not doing rather than on what You are doing or have already done. I ask You to grow gratitude in my husband’s heart. Help him use the challenges and pain in his life as opportunities to look more closely at how You are working within him. Instead of merely noticing Your blessings, help him speak words of praise and thanksgiving aloud, honoring You for all the amazing things You have done.

Give him Your perspective so he can see what he may be missing right now. Give him Your heart so he can understand the things that may not yet make sense. And give him Your hope so he can trust that You are working behind the scenes. Help him stand in awe of all the things You have done and are still doing. In Jesus’ name, amen.

THINK
Are you using pain and hardships in life as prompts to look for how God might be working? Are you praising and thanking God each day?

TAKE ACTION
Right now, praise God for who He is to you: “God, I praise You because You are my Comforter, my Provider, my Hope, my Rest, my Joy, my Peace…” This practice will help cultivate a heart of gratitude in your marriage.
