Endurance That Strengthens Character

TRUTH

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.  And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Lord, I know that none of us really enjoy dealing with challenges and difficult times, but I understand that they help build endurance within us. I pray for my husband and the struggles he is facing. I am thankful that these difficulties are helping strengthen his character. Thank You that his strengthened character also strengthens his hope, and that Your hope never disappoints. Remind him that You are with him, even when things become very hard, and assure him that You are working behind the scenes in ways we cannot see. Help him recognize that even in difficult seasons, there is a beautiful opportunity for growth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
