Finding Hope

Day 23 | PRAYING FOR YOUR PASTOR HUSBAND

Day 24: When He Needs Help

TRUTH

“And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.”
Psalm 39:7 NLT

TALK TO GOD
Lord, it is easy for us to place our hope in the things we can see and understand, such as our own strength, education, wisdom, and experiences. But today, I pray that my husband will not rely on those things. Instead, help him place all his hope in You and You alone. When he starts feeling self-sufficient, help him shift his focus from the problem to You. If he is leaning on his own wisdom, guide him to the wisdom found in Your Word. And when he is tempted to listen to all the voices around him, help him tune in to Your voice alone. When he thinks he has everything figured out, gently remind him to talk with You about it. And if he ever feels overwhelmed by hopelessness, remind him where true and lasting hope is found—in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

THINK
How often do you want your husband to place his hope in you because you believe you have the answer or that your way is right? Is there any way you are trying to control the outcome of something that may be preventing him from finding his hope and help in God?

TAKE ACTION
Let your husband know that you believe in him. If he has a decision to make, instead of telling him what to do, encourage him by saying that you believe he and God can work through it together.
