Trusting God

Day 18 | PRAYING FOR YOUR PASTOR HUSBAND

← Day 17: When He’s Unsure

Day 19: A Humble Heart

TRUTH

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.  “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

TALK TO GOD
Lord, we like things to make sense and to be logical. However, sometimes Your ways do not fit into our neat and tidy boxes. I pray that my husband will begin to understand this. When he goes through a crisis of belief, help him trust You and Your ways. Sometimes he will need to set aside his own logic and stand strong in faith. When fear starts creeping in, give him the courage to choose faith over fear. And when he wants to question You, let him wave the white flag of surrender in his heart, saying, “I may not understand it, God, but I trust You.” I pray that he will surrender his own will and reasoning and place his faith in Your leadership. In Jesus’ name, amen.

THINK
How compassionate are you toward your husband? Do you have compassion for the things he does not yet understand? Are you patient with him, knowing that he is still growing?

TAKE ACTION
The next time you are sitting near your husband—in the car, at church, or on the couch—reach out and hold his hand.
