The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reports that as of Tuesday morning, Taal Volcano's eruptions and the resulting ashfall have affected 6,891 families—around 30,423 people. Of this number, 4,175 families—18,187 people—are taking shelter in 118 evacuation centers.
As of 2 a.m. on Tuesday, a total of 286 volcanic earthquakes were also recorded in Taal region. According to the NDRRMC, 125 of these were "felt" and ranged from magnitudes 1.2 to 4.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in the Philippines is working with Adventist regional offices of the affected provinces to asses the situation following Taal volcano’s eruption.

“We have been in touch with both the South-Central Luzon Conference (SCLC) and the Cavite Adventist Mission (CDM) to work closely with the Adventist Community Services (ACS) in conducting initial assessments of those who have been evacuated,” said Tom Pignon, ADRA Regional director in the Philippines.

“Once we have a clearer picture of the scale of the impact and the needs of those affected, then we can decide on how we will respond,” Pignon added.

ADRA is currently outside of the evacuation zone but is closely monitoring the situation and will follow government guidance if the evacuation zone extends.

“We have a contingency plan to support our staff and their dependents if the situation worsens; we are working to ensure the safety of our staff but also remain in a position to respond to the humanitarian needs of the wider community,” said Pignon.

“We have alerted the ADRA Network and will continue to work with ADRA International, the Asia Regional Office and our Network partners to identify what further assistance may be required,” Pignon added.
