Concepcion Adventist Academy
Description
Concepcion Adventist Academy (CAA) is a co-educational semi boarding Adventist Secondary School operated by the Mountain Provinces Mission in the North Philippine Union Mission territory, located on a plateau of about 2.5 hectare land in the Barangay of Concepcion, Gregorio del Pilar, in the province of Ilocos Sur. Its background is the historic Mount Tirad in the Mountain Ranges of Cordillera. It is about 2 hours ride by jeep from the nearest City of Candon, and about 7 hours bus ride from Manila towards the northern part of Luzon. To reach CAA campus, we need to cross the same river for several times where the vehicle must get in to the water. But once we arrive inside the campus, we will feel refreshed through the beautiful panoramic scenery of the mountain surrounding the campus, and an excellent spiritual environment contributed by the beautiful prayer garden right at the center of the campus.
The school started its operation in 1976 as a result of an evangelistic crusade by the students from the former PUC in 1972, under the sponsorship of Miss Thelma Pallasa, a professor of the said institution. On February 19, 1985, it was granted recognition by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Sports of the Philippine Government. At present, the school has an enrollment of 163 students. Of this number, 79 students (48.46%) are Seventh-day Adventists, while 84 students (51.54%) are of other religious persuasions.
